taking care of your foothold traps

how do you "season" your traps. everybodys looks nice and mine is starting to rust. i heard there is some kind of solution that you boil those in?

Do you dye your traps? I dye all my traps in logwood crystals, then hang them to dry and then wax them and hang them to dry again. After this is all said and done i put all my traps in a large plastic tote that has a small amount of dirt in the bottom. Of course all this is done after all the tuning and rusting is done form the original purchase of the trap.

I recommend getting a few videos and some books and do some research, even youtube is a great place to start.
