2010-2011 Winter Catch Results

Post by rodeorulz »

2010-2011 Winter Catch
75 coyotes - not all pictured because some had mange, were rubbed bad or were eaten by eagles/magpies
13 bobcats
All were trapped using snares or shot in Campbell Co. WY Nov-Feb.
47 of the coyotes were snared/shot on ONE ranch.
These are the results of just doing part-time snaring no more than 3 days a week :)
This is the best part-time season for my husband yet!!
Now he's working on doing some coyote work for some ranchers this spring/summer and again during the winter season.
Sorry it took so long to get the photo posted...I've only had it since mid-March!!!! :D

Happy Coyote Hunting everyone!!

Thanks Chris! Yes, he was quite pleased with the results :) He doesn't let me go with him much anymore though since I usually bring him bad luck! Hopefully I'll start bringing him better luck so I can enjoy it all a little more! Good work to you on your beaver catch by the way! I just checked out the pics! That black beaver was a little interesting...did ya keep that one? I think I would have. I'm a weirdo for the "odd" animals like that though. My husband just shakes his head at me!

The black beaver got skun, and is in the freezer to be tanned. Black beaver in my area, are uncommon, but not rare if that makes any sense. You just need to go with your husband right before or after a front, then you might turn into a luck charm

TBush- Try a new furshed!!!! :D Gonna save us lots of money in the end since he was having to drive 30 miles one way to his parents' place to do all his furwork!!! And of course he had to buy new supplies :) Oh and he was so kind enough to buy me the elliptical I wanted...now if I can just find the time to use it!!! lol. Yes it was a nice, successful year. Can't wait for the next winter when he actually gets to use his fur shed. Well...he's using it now too, but for his summer stuff he's doing...not quite as neat as winter furwork though :)
