Fall Coyotes

Post by LeviM »

We got about half our traps out last weekend. A little earlier than I like, but once deer hunting rolls around in our area coyote trapping is done for us. The fur is "okay" at best but Its about impossible to get permission on anyones land about two weeks before opener. We had a pretty good week catching 10 coyotes. We should of had 11, but we had one get out of the trap after a heavy rain we had. We are hoping to rotate traps next week with beans being picked this weekend.

Levi, nice pictures. Those coyotes aren't even close to being prime as you know. You must be trapping just to help out the rancher. Are you trapping these in Minn. or N.D? I am starting to get the bug, but our coyotes down here aren't really prime until about the second week or later in Nov. What are you doing with the coyotes. They look pretty thin.

Jerry, those coyotes arent even close to being prime. I am trapping in MN. I am helping out some farmers, and skinning the coyotes. Theres no chance I will be able to trap my area after Oct 20th. So I start earlier than I want. Last season for our earlier coyotes we average $25.00 put up. I am hoping for something aroud that.

$25.00 a pc. aint bad levi. Kinda figured you were doing somthing like that. I am really impressed with the fur in Norwestern ND. Always wanted to get one of those Light colored coyotes. We have a few good ones around here once in awhile .

I have been a member here for almost a year. I just remembered the other day. LOL.

Chris, I dont usually catch any skunks. Thats Levi that gets them. I think the skunk had my trap and Levis mixed up.
