Still rolling along. Up to 44 now. Started on some fresh ground last week and first check I had 8 on 17 traps. Nice looking coyotes.

Its an old plow drag that my dad made for coyote trapping in the rocks with very little entanglement. He made a dozen of them just for one area he was trapping back in the eighties. The coyote in the picture below it is the one caught with it. The pegged off bitch is the third coyote I'd caught in the same trap in five days. Must be a crossing their?

I caught a huge old bitch coyote tonight and she was rubbed
Why would she be braking off so early? She was a good looking dog but the top of her ass was down to the undercoat. WTF?

Around here its cheat grass, we have burs down by the river. Could definetly be the weather. We've never had mange here. I dont know but I hope its not a pattern. I got two more weeks of this shit. Caught 49 in 30 days. Want 70 by Dec but might not be able to get it done. Gonna have to finish strong. I do have a couple of fresh spots I gotta get set up. Just waiting on the landowner to show it to me.

Ok so its not winding down as much as I thought. Went out this morning and set bobcat sets and then checked part of my K-9 line and had six. I was getting ready to pull out of this area.
This coyote is the biggest one I think I've ever seen in real life. What a pig.

EO - did you have a fairly long cold snap that followed by a fairly warm - warm up? Levi shot a coyote this weekend that looked like a late Februaury/early March coyote
