Question? how late can you typically trap coons? Does it all depend on the weather? I live in northern nodak. I don't trap much but am looking to get into it more. Gives me something to do when I can't call coyotes or hunt deer.
Thanks.

Re: raccoons
you can usually trap them until they start to loose there winter coat like a coyote does. The coon will den up though during those cold periods and will only come out when the temps warm up or are hungry.

Re: raccoons
has anyone ever used coon cuffs? The one thing about them that looks good is they claim to be dog proof. Spendy though. The lowest price I found has been 18.95. The highest price $30.

Re: raccoons
Im sure they have there time and place but i have never used them. I know some guys are very successfull with them. I have heard though that the little grizz trap is better than any other dog proof system out there. Not for the dog proofing but that catch rate and ease of trap set up.

they work really good arond farmsteads with dogs and cats. If you have no dogs and cats to worry about, then they are a little spendy. just about everything else on the market is cheaper and work as well. can't beat a 220 body grip and a bucket if you are just getting started.
