Maybe this happened to my fox??

Post by lyonch »

Since my fox wasn't tore up, like Randy Roede posted a pic of one tore up, i found this video on another forum and thought it was interesting to watch. I should have payed closer attention to the width of the holes from the k-9's to confirm it was a coyote or possibly a fox that killed the fox that i had in a set this fall. enjoy fellas

I don't think he would play anymore. I have come to learn he hates fox. Not sure if it is there nature but man he comes unglued at the sight of one. Dead or alive doesn't seem to matter he wants to shred them. I had brought home a dead one and the hair stood up from ears down to his tail and man was pi$$ed. I had him out with me earlier this fall and a fox come in and he took off and tore that fox a new a$$ i finally had to use his shock collar because he wouldn't stop. That fox was easy to shoot because he wasn't running away very fast. Now coyotes don't get the same response. He's not sure about them and well they think he is food but he does'nt come unglued like on a fox. Maybe wyojrt can shed some light on this but must just be there breed. :?

I fleshed and put that fox on the stretcher last night that was attacked and can officialy say that it was not a coyote!! The only possibility that it couls have been after looking at the puncture holes in the hide was that it was a fox. I never knew that one fox would tear up another :?

It wasn't eaten at all!! There wasn't any obvious piled of fur lying around either. There were puncture marks all over on the hide and the hole size was too small to be a coyote's k-9's and they were too close together too. There were 6 holes in the hide that had to sew because they were about 50 cent to silver dollar size holes. Where the holes were on the hide there was always some sort of a laceration on the animal. I guess i never thought about a bird of some sort but who knows it could have been something as stupid as levi ermi's that he is trying to trap  Oh i forgot to mention I HATE FRICKEN SEWING :!: :!:

I made some box sets some with rat traps and some with 110 conibears, also focusing on mink, card board box would work too, unless it gets wet from snow. I saw last year at one of the auctions they averaged around $7.00 put up, not good money but enough to peak my intrest and keep me out of trouble for a couple more weeks.

I see thanks guess I never heard them called that  I know there is some back home. Saw three in the same shelterbelt when we were deer hunting and one I smoked in a pasture with my .300 RUM and painted the snow :D
