Caught this guy in the same set that is shown in the top dog forum with the big tom bobcat. He was in pretty tough shape!

This coyote had mange real bad I am assuming that the condition of the teeth is a direct result from having mange and being in such poor condition.

that dog could have used a dentist. Its good to see that they get dispatched instead of trying to walk along one day and finally kick over from pain!! Once again a favor was handed out to a coyote.

Prairie Ghost

How does the mange go and affect the teeth? I understand that if the teeth were missing the coyotes resulting health would go downhill but how does it work the other way around? Does the mite affect the tissue of the teeth and mouth too?

I believe it is just poor general health. I can not find any info on it but I do know that on the bad ones the teeth always are in very poor shape. You guys start looking at those teeth and see if you are seeing the same thing.

That is interesting coyotehunter. Does mange also affect their mental health do you think?

If you ask me about mange i would have to say that affects everything within the coyote. Im sure it will eventually spread to the point that there is nothing on them that doesn't get affected before they die. Im sure that will be some mangy ones shot at the classic this year jamie so we can start looking at the mouths and see if we can confirm that mange affects the teeth.
