Ok so I am gona TRY to find some varget and CCI 200 primes. I always have shot 50 grain bullet out of my weatherby and the wheels were turning... knowing every load and bullet combo. performs diff. out of every gun is there a bullet that is better for a gun with a 1:14 twist.

Spend the money you tight wad and use BR-2s! :P You stop at 6 beers a sitting and then you can afford to shoot the good primers...........
Maybe if you would share your beers, I would let you have a few BR-2s :P

I personally shoot sierra bullets. With your 1:14 you can try the 52 grain hollow point boat tails, or i use the 55 grain sierra spitzers. The common rule of thumb is that a 1:14 can stabilize up to a 55 grain bullet. Just make sure to start with less powder than max and work your way up to what powder load your gun likes. I would start approximately .10 off of the lands. Then after you find the powder (possibly primer combo her too) then play with the seating depth of the bullet. Another load that my gun seem to like was 41.5 grains of H380 (not good for large temperature swings) and the 52 grain hollow point boat tails. that load had a velocity of 3,852 out of my gun. I also seated that one at 2.35 inches. Good luck with your search :D

I have to be the only person in the world that doesnt like varget. At least not in a .22 cal.

Ive been shooting H380 for.......well, a LONG damn time and have had no issues with it.

Just curious what your reasons are for not liking varget? The only problems I have heard with it, its a touchy powder, and some guns just dont like it!

Im anal in my reloading and the Varget just didnt meter as well as the H380. Its extruded, not spherical, and ya its small grained but still doesnt meter as well IMO. Not to mention, it was a pain to dump in the smaller neck sizes. I dont particularly like reloading (once I win powerball im gonna pay someone else to do it :D ) but I like the added accuracy I get from reloading.

I dropped 100 charges of each one day, weighing each one. I saw a higher d e v i a t i o n in the varget than the H380.
Now, in the .308 the vargets a different story.
