Federal Primers? anyone?

Post by LeviM »

so I stop in at scheels, and looked into the primer case and only see dust bunnies on the shelves like usual. I finally found someone and asked when he can expect some large rifle Federal 210 primers! He first giggled, then said you might not find any 2011!!! I stared at him for a few seconds, and said what? He said, he puts an order in every week and they keep replying back to him that they dont have enough. He finally called the Federal rep, and they said they are not making them fast enough to stock anyone shelves. The demand is crazy for these damn things

So, here I sit, wanting some more Federal primers and cant find any? anyone else having any luck finding Federal primers or any primers at all? How about powders? I finally found some powder that I shoot, I had to buy a 8lb keg, but oh well at least I have some powder that will last me.

I got a brick of 1000 Federal Match Primers for my 223 last summer. I just started using them so I hope they last me for a while...and that I like them!

whats you guys beef with rems. i normally use cci but have 2000 rems on reservre have tried them (maybe 2-33-) rounds and have no compaints other than they seem to not seat quite flush with the case and the bolt closes a bit harder.

I group a nice tight group with federals, and its not as tight with remingtons. Its still an alright group, but not as nice as Federals

That is why I don't like them as much. But maybe I did something wrong I don't know.

After I uniform the primer pocket, they sit pretty decent, never had a problem with one.

CCI 450's for my .204. I can't recall having seen Federal Premium Primers (red packaging) in stock for over a year. I've found some Federal's in the blue packaging, but I try to stay away from those if their blue box primers are anything like their blue box shotgun shells.
