The camera ran out of battery when i was talking about the "money cut". I tried to piece it together the best i could. On average, when i have a pile to skin, it takes me roughly 1.5 - 2 minutes per coon to skin with my machine. Feel free to ask any questions or add some insight. I have a different gambrel that i normally use when i have a pile to do, but forgot to switch it before the video started

Yes i can. I can get to the ears usually before it bottoms out and i run out of length, but that is usally a little detail work with the knife after that anyhow. This hoist with a single pull will bottom out at 440 lbs. I had a coyote on here about two weeks ago, that the hoist started dogging down when i got to the front shoulders
It's amazing how much power it takes to get to the shoulders. That area in my opinion, is the hardes part to tackle when skinning a coyote by hand. When i get some more coyotes to skin, i will video it and put it on the site. I will do one by hand, and one on the machine

Very nice
Used one for years very similar to yours, only a rope around the belly and a single vise grip, yours looks better
Oh! and we had a foot control which was nice

That's the next improvement to be done on it Tbush
They want $175 for a foot pedal that can withstand dust and water and anything i throw at it
If it saves as much time as i think it will, then it is more than worth it

nice video Chris. i don't have a skinning machine but did try my first attemt at skinning coons yesterday. did 2 small coon and one coyote in 14.5 minutes. they were all still warm and it went better than expected. also tried fleshing for the first time. took about 1 hour for all 3 . it went ok but i did put a few small holes in 1 coon and the coyote. with practice and the right tools i think i can get the hang of it. sad damn day for me yesterday. had to put Tucker down.
he had lymes and his kidneys were failing. sure am gonna miss that little coyote dog.
