thermacell

Post by bucksnbears »

hey everyone. here is a product that works unbelievablly well. if you don't know it's a mosquito repellent device that uses a small butane cartridge and a felt-like mat that has the repellant on it. check them out on there website. we drove 60 miles to get another one bear hunting this year because the skeets were so bad. i'm quite sceptical about new products but this one gets a huge thumbs up.

Just got one this past summer and love it!! It is a product that works very well. Makes no noise and or odor and keeps those pesky buzzers off of you!

i have seen them as cheap as 15 bucks. I have also seen them as expensive as 30 -35. Some of them emitt and earth scent. They give off approximately a 15' radius around you to keep the mosquitos out of. If it is windy though this product doesn't work. Of course if it is windy the mosquitos wont be there to bother you either.

scheels has them for 19.99 i think. they come with 1 cartidge and 3 mats. each cartridge last about 12 hours and each mat about 4. replacement kits come with 4 cartridges and 12 mats for 19.99. not real cheap but way better than spray becaise even with spray they still buzz you which is annoying. these really are the real deal.

Creek bottoms can get real bad in the summer while den hunting but for the most part they aren't near as bad as ND or MN

I'll agree with everyone, they work very well, even up here in the wet swamp lands of ND. I wish they would do a bit more for ticks though. I think I hate ticks just as bad or worse than mosquitoes.

Fallguy,
the next time i see you, i'll show you how one works.
