Western River electronic calls

Anyone have any of these electronic calls? Looking for some feedback from those who own one or have used them in the field. Thank you.
I bought a Western Rivers Predation MP3 Electronic Game Call WR 789 off E-Bay 7 or 8 years ago. Thing works great if it's warm out, but if it's cold not really cold(below 40f) the remote only works to about 50yards and the battery in the call only last about 15min. I called their tech support and they told me it was too cold and I needed to try to insulate it from the cold and not let the weather get to it (wind and snow) . Kind of hard to coyote hunt after deer season and not be in the cold and snow. I bought a different battery thinking that was the problem, another $50 wasted.
I wish now I would have spent the extra money and got a fox pro.
