Have you considered a temporary fix? Like white tape or one of the sock type covers? The trouble with white guns is that they look pretty silly the other 8 or 9 months out of the year. If you do decide to refinish you might consider just going with a tan or light brown. It fits in pretty well any time of the year. Any good smith should be able to fix you up. Hell, if you're not concerned with resale value, take a whack at it yourself.

Nothing like ULTRA FLAT WHITE krylon, with a little gray here and there.... take your time doing a good tape job on the action/scope/ trigger/ and muzzle..
If its good enough; Better is achievable
