Passing of Gerry Blair - author of "Predator Calling"

My step father - Gerald C. Blair (Gerry) died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He is survived by his second wife Beverly, his son Gerald C. Blair, Jr., grandchildren - Stephanie, Sean, Geoffry and three great-grandchildren.

Gerry’s principal occupation was in law enforcement. He was an officer with the Phoenix Police Department, then the Arizona Highway Patrol where he rose to the position of Zone Commander of Northern Arizona headquartered in Flagstaff where he built the family home.

Gerry was experienced in trapping, hunting, and photography - devoting many years of his life those pursuits. He won national acclaim for his skill and knowledge and wrote many books and magazine articles on these and other related subjects.

Gerry was also an enthusiastic gem and mineral collector and made his own beautiful jewelry. He visited most of the mineral sources in Arizona, a few in Mexico, and was the author of the book “Rockhounding Arizona.”

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at:
Norvel Owens Mortuary
914 E. Route 66
Flagstaff, AZ 86001

I was lucky to be able to share a camp-site along with a nice warm fire with Gerry. Tons of info and a good story teller. He will be missed...
