Was considering purchasing a 10 guage as my 12 has only a 3" chamber...
Had a hard time finding 10 gauge shells.... Is it worth the buck a shot ammo ???
Was thinking along th elines of the remington SP 10
Thanks again,
Norm

Re: SCATTER GUNS ???
Hi.I have both a 3.5 twelve and a 10.Haven't used the 10 for anything in years.Unless you reload, shooting a 10 a lot will punish you more ways than one.Pattern wise, very little difference between the 2.I have not used either very much for coyotes and haven't tried the 'dead coyote'type loads but frankly if I start carrying a shotgun more often,I'll try the 12 with 3 inch coyote loads and a Carlson tube first based on what I've heard and read.

Re: SCATTER GUNS ???
I shoot an old Winchester Model 12 with a 2 3/4 chamber and a Full Choke.... never have shot anything larger than BB's and have never wounded a coyote. In my opinion you don't need to go any bigger, just get the coyotes in closer.
I carry both it and my .22-250 EVERY TIME. If the coyotes don't come in close enough to get them with the shotgun, I just nail them with the rifle.... however I prefer the scatter gun because it doesn't destroy the pelts at all.
My two cents.... actually that was more like a nickel's worth of thoughts

that is a fact. I'm a Nevada boy, so I have no trouble... our coyotes out here are pretty easy to call... especially with a fawn bleat. I once stood up to shoot one with the Model 12 and there were 4 within 25-35 yards. Got all of them. (Thank God for John Moses Browning and his designs)

Re: SCATTER GUNS ???
I have a Browning BPS in a 10guage and have shot some coyotes with it. I wouldn't worry about buying a 10guage just for coyotes it is nice to have that much more knock down and pellets but i don't think it is all that necessery anymore.
