I am just starting to see more and more fox activity in my area. Hopefully the numbers keep improving

Most of the summer i have been seeing dead fox pups on the roads. I have seen approximately 8 of them so far just driving from home to work.

thats the problem with those fox the coyotes take all the good spots and they are stuck with putting dens right by the main roads.

Coyotes are pretty hard on them aren't they? Have heard of people useing fox in distress to call in coyotes. We hardly ever see them in Eastern OR but they are around. I called one in a year ago but Trevor missed him,,,,twice.

The fox pro sound in the online store is deadly on coyotes. One of the two distress sounds i use on a electronic call. Tough to keep the kids alive when you have to put your den in the ditch due to coyotes. :(

Yeah, I dont like ducks. Where I grew up it was ducks ducks ducks ducks.

IMO fox are more of a sport than shooting some stupid pea brained sky maggots. Always resented that everybody waged war on fox to save a few stupid ducks.

Do you think the higher number of coyotes killed with the predator program in WY will help the fox population rebound a little out there?

Just from my visual observations and listening to the guys in wyoming, it seems as though there are a few swift fox out there, and an occasional red fox that they snare or trap, I can't honestly say the predator control program has helped in a come back of any form, but they do come across them occassionaly.

Swift fox are strong in numbers on the east side of the state. The reds have been getting more plentiful every year that i have been here. Fox will follow with the coyotes numbers to a certain degree.

I am planning a trapping trip to WY, haven't gone in 5 yrs after 10 yrs in a row. I have a place to stay in Gillette, but would like to try an area 3 hrs or less away from there, might be a few cold nights! I figure maybe there are fewer trappers and ect, 2hrs or more from a town? Used to have all private ground, but got it taken away from me, need to start all over again. I would prefer private ground, but may have to do all fed ground.
Prairie ghost, any helpful info would be appreciated!
