Indeed.I have both as well. This one I used was a really old one though.Pale wood that the top turns on giving 2 sounds or sort on one high, one low pitched sound.Used to carry it for fox and just recently found it in a box of what I thought was full of just old assorted brass.

Dcoy, what made you decide to build a 220 imp? Not being a smartass, just curious. It's kind of a rare round in my neck of the woods.

Speed and a love of the caliber since I was knee high.
I've run it up to 4500fps with a 50 gr pellet but shoot it most of the time at about 4200.
Most accurate rifle I have.
I laugh when I hear 'outdated, inefficient, historically inaccurate' etc.I cry and turn green with envy when I see some of the great 'oldtimers'(like Norman Johnson who often writes for VH Mag)building new ones in 220.There's a company working on 220s in an AR platform and if it works,I'll have one.
There is a downside to the improved-the blown out case shoulder can present feeding problems out of certain actions like the standard R700.Need careful stacking and mag spring position.
Good hunting.

I had that happen a couple years ago in a tourney. We walked in and sat down by a rock pile I instantly spotted a coyote bedded in creek bottom 800 yards out. I started calling and another yote sat up along a section line 200 yards from the first coyote. I tried everything I could think of till I was blue in the face. All they would do is sit up and look my direction everytime I'd try a different call or sound then lay right back down. After about 35 minutes with no luck and ready to maybe try a sneak, a coyote pops out of a draw 3/4 miles away on a dead run at me. He runs right between the two beded yotes and they jump up and follow him right in. We were able to get two out of three. :o
