Summer calling in the LMNG

Post by Nitwit »

Hi all,
I've never called coyotes during the summer, but I have to be in the Belfield, ND area for a few days in early August. Would it be worth bring my gear and doing some calling in the Little Missouri National Grasslands?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep, you better bring your calls! I shot some prairie dogs out there in 2009 and we also called in a few coyotes on only a few stands.

That experience is actually what got me more interested in coyote hunting. It seemed easy there, crawl on top of a hill into the wind, start calling and here they come.

Its definitely not that way here in the Valley! I only shot 12 this year with probably 15-20% success rate. :(
