coyote hunting for a beginner

Post by twaig1726 »

I'm a beginner with coyote hunting in GA. We have some land where we have been putting out dead bait (chickens). We have yet to see anything but know they are around. We just bought some coyote urine and gland lure. Should I use gland lure and urine and put it out near the chickens or just the lures without the chickens? Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. We are mainly hunting at night. Its the only time we've been able to get out. Also we have some calls as well. How should those be incorporated with the bait suggestions?

Thanks,

Craig

I would keep the lures for trapping. I do not see any down side to using them but they are for trapping. The bait pile, well bigger is better in my opinion. Try to set up several locations.

I agree bigger is better. Try fish guts they will get them curious as well.

Where bouts in GA are you?

My family has property on the Alapaha in the south and we haven't seen any yotes around. I live out of state and would hate to go visit and not be prepared.
