1st timer...

All you new guys who are just getting into coyote hunting, put your posts in this area. Lots of good information that would be helpful before putting up a post asking for the "how to" manual on calling.

1st timer...

Post by new2thegame »

During last deer gun season i managed to shoot a coyote and it sparked an interest. I've since recently decided i want to give true coyote hunting a try, so im here to get some help/advice! i live in central Wisconsin and was wondering if anyone has some good tips for hunting in wooded, field, and swamp settings, i know quite a few farmers that have told me to give'em hell...only problem is i don't know where to start! I have access to a remington model 700 sps in .204, would this work? or would someone suggest to go out and buy a rifle? if so whats the ideal caliber? Is there any certain calls and calling techniques that would be prime for the above listed areas i will be hunting? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm from Westfield, which is right around 50 miles north of Madison. It's basically a town that if you drive through it and blink you miss half of it, the whole county only has 1 stoplight and its not even in Westfield! and thanks for the help guys!
