New to Yote Hunting need some help PLEASE!

All you new guys who are just getting into coyote hunting, put your posts in this area. Lots of good information that would be helpful before putting up a post asking for the "how to" manual on calling.

New to Yote Hunting need some help PLEASE!

Post by Bigearl »

I live in Kentucky. Live right on the Tennessee River. There are some wide open fields. Thickets all around the fields. We hear the all hours of the night, so I figured why not.
I got my son and myself "2 700 SPS Varmits.
I got some calls.

Now, Not sure what time is better to Hunt? Day or Morning?
WHere should I sit my stand? Not sure , would the Coyotes come from the Thick woods? or accross the fields?
Really cant afford a box call, so I was wondering what would be a all around call to get their attention?

Thanks so much for your input in an advance.

There is a lot of information in the threads below yours. Try to use the search button on the forum, and i think you will become educated quicker than what we can respond to questions. One of the best things you could do in my opinion, is see if there is someone in your area that could take you out for a morning or evening hunt. If that doesn't work, purchase a couple of videos and watch those. Use the KISS method and you will be more successful off the bat than getting complex (distress versus howling).
