1st Coyote

Post by 1Shooter »

I bought a 'Hot Dog' howler, a mouse squeaker, a PC-2 cottontail distress call, proposed to my girlfriend (she said yes), went to sleep and got up at 5:30 the next morning to go coyote hunting. We got the moving fake rabbit set out in a hay field and were sitting in a row of hay bales. We had been calling with the Dan Thompson PC-2 cottontail distress call for about an hour when my fiance (who was sitting on my right) says there's a coyote on her right. I couldn't see it because she was in the way. She moved around a bit so I could see the coyote, who was heading straight for the fake rabbit. Looking back now I'm very surprised it didn't see, smell or hear us! Since I didn't want to smack my fiance in the face with my barrel, I told her to get down and I rested my elbows on her back. Bang flop. Here's the picture:

Job well done. Great job on being patient and waiting that long on stand.
