to nice of a day not to make a stand or two, male came in to a Sceery rabbit distress at about the 2 minute mark. Upwind and just about stepped on me. Oddly enough I was watching down wind at the time. He gave out a huff and headed out. Bear seem him and chased him over the hill. Couple of minutes later he came back with a coyote in tow. What a great dog :D

17apr and he still is sporting a rack, one of 7 I seen today. The rest got up and left when bear ran up to them to say hi. Then about 10 minutes later this bull comes running out of the trees right at me. got to about 65 yards and winded the dogs. You can see him with his nose up and lip curled on the 2nd photo.

Good work!

On the wet female was the dog not around? You should be able to go back and mop him up pretty easily especially if he didn't see the dogs when you called in the female.

The dog never showed up with that female. I let the dog work her for awhile but she had circled around and came in down wind several times. I thought I was pushing my luck so I put her down. To be honest I thought it was the male and was not wanting to shoot him until she showed. After the 3rd time of having her at 50 yards down wind I knocked her down. I did not find the den though, I looked for a few hours but it looked like it may be on the other side of the fence. I know who owns that piece now and when it stops snowing I will give it another go.

If you would of worked the female long enough would of she gave away the den location? Just curious if she would of worked her way back to the den?

Lots of variables but if you watch close you can pick up some clues at times. I have some just try to lead me as far away from the den as possible and others will spend the whole time looking at the dogs then over there shoulder at the den.
