Finally!!

Post by LeviM »

I am finally on the board! I called this one in early this morning, 10 minutes in the stand I saw this coyote fly around the corner about 50 yards from me and the time I got the rifle on the darn thing was about 100 yards out!!

1st male coyote was a shotgun coyote, called it in 40 yards and shot it with dead coyote with the dead coyote choke tube!!

Image

Second male coyote was called in to about 150 yards before it started getting nervous. I shot it with my .223!! It weighed 39.5lbs, the biggest coyote of my career!!

Image

Third male coyote of the day was called in with a combination of distress calls and howls with the song dog! It took this one 22 minutes to come in! I shot it at 150 yards with the .223. I kick a real nice male up walking into this stand. I was told by a wise coyote hunter 9 out of 10 times you kick a coyote up, you will call one in!

Finally a group picture of me and the boys!!

Well levi it looks like we both had a pretty good day. You shoot three coyotes and i shoot three deer :D To bad i wasn't there with you to screw it all up. I hope that the deer hunters dont take too much of a tole on them and wise them up more than they already are next weekend. I saw one coyote deer hunting today and he was a little too far for my muzzleloader.

Levi

Nice job! Today would have been a great day to get out. Cloudy, low winds. I had some work around the yard and house I had to get done and also had to sight in the deer rifle for next weekend otherwise I would have wanted to get out to call.

I like the white tail tip on that 3rd coyote. I shot one like that 2 years ago kind of a neat feature. Geez that 2nd one is just a porker!
