07-08 coyote season

Post by DOUBLE LUNG »

Well the boys and I ended the season pretty good again this year. Around here it is pretty tough to do calling considering it is so flat. Alot of spot and stalk or find fresh track going into a section and ride around the section to see if they had left. No tracks going out means they are still in there. We ended up with 62 coyotes and a dozen fox. We let alot of fox go this year and mainly focused on the yotes. Usually it was a group of 4-6 guys on the days we were out. Never had a day when everyone could make it. The picture is short a few coyotes due to horrible mange and knowone wanted to touch them and a couple fox that people are getting tanned out. Our biggest dog this year was 57.3lbs and he was beautiful. Pure white belly and nice long hair on him. Fun was had by all and the pictures turned out great. Hope you enjoy.

We are going to see what we can get on thursday night. If it isn't what we are looking for we will pack it up and take it home.

good idea!! Personally i dont mind these prices being a little low cause it might get a few of the people who aren't die hards out of the sport.

All these dog where shot within 15-20 mile of Alton Iowa. The big was taken south of Granville which is 8 mile east of Alton. We are in the northwest corner of Iowa.

The guy that shot it took to a man north of us to have the paws skinned out and this guy skins for a hobby and is probably 70 years old. This guy skins 400+ dogs a year and said he has never seen a yote that big before. When I saw it is the back of the pickup I was blown away. I will see if I can get a picture rounded up of it.
