Ft. Pierre to Deadwood Trail Ride
Here are a few pictures of the send off. It will take 17 days to get to Deadwood where they will celebrate the `100th anniversary. Freighters, early settlers, and indians used the trail. There are 54 wagons and about 300 people making the trip with overnight stops every 20 miles. Quite an undertaking these days. They will get a taste of what it was like years ago. You have to admire the gritty old settlers. So far not many wrecks, but I'm sure there are many sore ole bodies. Enjoy the photos.

Randy, He is too busy roping. He really done well last week-end in Ft. Pierre. I think he told me he won about $2000.00 team roping with his Grandson, Zane. I haven't heard lately how the wagon train is doing. I went out there after the first night and watched them take off again. looks like one wagon was being held back due to somthing breaking. Quite an undertaking.

Re: Ft. Pierre to Deadwood Trail Ride
Since I posted these pictures a lot has happened. The guy riding the horse in the last photo has passed away suddenly. He was a classmate of mine and a good friend. He was laying in bed watching the Democratic Convention and had a heart attack. We laid him to rest Fri. He is the guy looking back a me as I took the picture. The one with the maroon shirt. The other guy with the red shirt had a mini stroke . He was another classmate and friend. Kinda hits home. Enjoy life to the fullest and hunt like Hell. You just never know.
