11NDCC Coyote Classic 10-12 January 2013

Coyotehunter.net will be holding the Largest 2-day Coyote Tournament in the Upper Midwest. Last years participants will have an oppurtunity to register before 01Sept12, after that date this tournamet will be open to everyone. If you did not hunt last year and would like to register, do so on line, your team will be entered based on your registration date if the 50 team max. is not met by 01Sept12. Once the tournamet maximum of 50 teams has been met your team can request a 100% refund or remain on a cancellation list. We would like to get you involved with this annual event. This hunting tournament is a two-day contest, $300.00 entry per team to register online. Registration can be downloaded online and mailed to the address and the registration form. Make checks payable to coyotehunter.net. All cancellations will be subject to a $100 charge and will be refunded with-in 4 weeks of cancellation. Cancellations after the 01Jan13 will not be refunded. We expect to reach our 50 team max and will not hold a spot without payment.

Are the the rules going to be the same as the Mandan tourney with no Friday night check in?

Dickinson will be the same as last year. no friday or saturday morning checkins, with full friday and saturday night checkins.

CoyoteHunter.net congratulates winners of the 11th Annual North Dakota Coyote Classic January 10 to 12, 2013 in Dickinson, ND

With more than $20,000 dollars in cash and prizes up for grabs, the 11th Annual North Dakota Coyote Classic (11NDCC) proved to be more than just an amazing predator hunting experience… it was also tremendously profitable for many of the participants.

A total of 44 teams entered the two-day 11NDCC. Home base for the event was the Dickinson, North Dakota Quality Inn.

Calcutta Auction

The total Calcutta payout for the 11NDCC was $4,055 of which 10 percent or $405.50 was donated to the local Lions Club. The remaining $3649.50 was divided among the top three teams: The first place team -- #10 (Scott Larson & Troy Sand) -- received a Calcutta payout of $1824.75. Second place went to team #5 (Ethan Redne & Billy Richard) with a payout of $1094.85. And the third place team -- #4 (Mitch Kvernum & Marty Oyloe) took $729.90.

Big Dog/Little Dog

The first night’s big dog winner was team #32 (Branson & Brandon Ekre) with a coyote weighing in at 35 lbs 3 oz. Team #41 (Paul Mutch & Eric Wermager) produced that night’s smallest dog weighing 21 lbs 13 oz.

The second night’s biggest dog weighed 37 lbs 6 oz. and was brought in by team #23 (John Powell & Scott Katus). Team #10 (Scott Larson & Troy Sand) produced the second night’s smallest dog weighing 19 lbs 8 oz.

Payout for each team each night was $307.50.

Tournament Results

The weekend’s winning team was #10 (Scott Larson & Troy Sand) who brought in nine coyotes. Their share of the winnings totaled $2547.50 plus a Calcutta payout of $1824.75 plus a small dog payout of $307.50 for a total cash prize of $4679.75. They also won a pair of Foxpro Hellfire e-callers valued at a total of about $800.

Coming in 2nd place was team #5 (Ethan Redne & Billy Richard) with six coyotes. Their share of the winnings totaled $2038 plus a Calcutta payout of $1094.85 for a total prize of $3132.85.

In 3rd place was team #4 (Mitch Kvernum & Marty Oyloe) who brought in five coyotes (check-in: 5:15 p.m.). Their share of the winnings totaled $1528.50 plus a Calcutta payout of $729.90 for a total prize of $2258.40

The remaining top 10 teams ranked as follows:
• 4th place -- Team #1 (Joel Kaczynski & Dale Peplinski). Five coyotes; check-in: 6:36. Total winnings: $1222.80
• 5th place -- Team #9 (Trell Shypkoski & Sam Clyde). Three coyotes; check-in: 5:00 p.m. Total winnings: $815.20
