I went out to warm up my call the other day and called in two pretty nice coyotes. Keith Zastoupil told me he wasn't buying coyotes this year. He still had hides left over from last year he was trying to get rid of. I sure hate to leave them lay. Guess I'll have to learn how to put them up myself.

We talked to our fur buyer the other night and he was telling us that we probably won't get much for our coyotes this year and to wait out the market. With the economy the way it is the other countries aren't buying much. He said that we may be better off to hold on to them till next year and hopefully by then the market will correct itself.

LMFAO~

Thanks for reminding me Terry!

I just remember as a little kid going to the fur buyer with my dad, and he would bring in 10 fox a week, and he would be tickled pink leaving the fury buyer~!

I have not talked with him, may need a new buyer for the "Classic"

Not me the good old days were not so good, trap thieves every where and competition abounded, many places off limits due to the prices and all the landowners chasing down everything. I would run traps before and after school, then coon hunt for 4 hours a night and run places that have been hammered by coon trappers and other coon hunters. Had many fox, coons and coyote stold and the money lost wore on you. I would be happy with 30.00 average on the main land species coyotes, fox, coon .

yep, i remember the good old days. red fox-80 90 bucks. also the tire tracks down every piece of cover then skid marks than a few shotgun hulls. hmmmmmmm! was rare to see fox out sleeping midday, if they were they were parinoid of even a jet flying overhead. . i'm with the last poster. moderate prices will keep the sled runners to a minimum. got 90.00$ for my first fox in about 78-79. to a 12-14 year old that was something! shot that fox as they were breeding. i didnt know what they were doing as they were stuck together 1 was trying to run 1 way the other trying to go the other way. they could not get apart. walked out to them in plain veiw and shot it with a .22. the other one took off running dragging the dead one. finally seperated after a short run. i think i shot the female. i'll bet the male had a sore pecker for a while
