The auction houses and your local fur buyers will promise the world about now to get you out there and catchin fur!!! Then about Thanksgiving the old sad stories start flowin especially your local buyer. Best thing would be an early winter that cuts down on the harvest.

It's a risky game they play, would not want to be a fur buyer. I am willing to bet a 100 of coon, fox, mink, coyote, or beaver, and you will be looking at a $5-10 avg. Closer to 5 than 10, ten if you don't keep anything but the best.

Remember it's not the money but the challenge and the adventure, doin any other kind of huntin doesn't pay to well either. Furbearers are the only one that turn back any amount of cash.

good points Randy  i just spent 250.00$$ in gas to go across state to shoot some coyotes for 3 days and left them lay. of course i had to spend a few $$ in the closest bar. it's amazing what a guy hears coming out of the locals when the beverages are flowing   lots of stories about snowmobilers late season going out and chasing/killing huge amounts of coyotes.
