.280 / .280AI load data.....?

Post by Optimax90 »

Any body running a .280 or .280AI that might want to help a brother out with a little info...... Got a used (hardly) .280 remington coming in a couple days and I'm going to try to get it up and running before deer hunting..... Maybe....

Then after season i'm sending it off to have it punched .280AI and see what it will do :D

I thought I remember you saying you had one. Is that what you shot that coyote in the head with that was on your avitar???

I bet that 120gr V-MAX screems out of it!!! Thinking of shooting 130-140 for deer leaning to the 140 TTSX running just at 3000......

my load for the 120's is 51 grains of reloader 15 cci br primers. this is a hotter load than the manual states should be but i worked up slowly untill pressure and accuarcy told me to stop. i've also tries 140 ball.tips with 58 r-19 with good accuracy but wanted more speed so dropped down to 120's. prairie dogs do not like the 120's   :D

Thanks Bucks!!! I recently started dumping a little more R-19 in some stuff, and it seams to shoot well for my .30-06 :)

The gun is suppose to be here early next week, and I leave for Elk hunting on friday morning, not sure if I will get it dialed in before we leave......

Have you ever looked into the .280AI? Man that seams like a the preformance goes leaps and bounds from the vanilla .280......
