ruger ranch rifle 223
looking for thoughts on ruger 223 ranch rifle. New to this site have to say its the best ive seen yet.

mostly just plinking . never shot one before . a friend of mine has it ss all weather with a tasco scope less than 300 rounds through it 600 bucks.
ive always shot bolt actions thought it might be fun to try a semi auto.

They are fun to shoot but kmow for their lack of accuracy. If your wanting something to hunt with you would do better to get an AR with a flat top and no frount sight.

You are not going to shoot fleas off a yotes back at 400 yards, but in thick brush and woods they are great for fast second shot's. Work good when Obama and friends come calling to take your toy's also. Free float the barrel and mine turned into a 1.5" 100 yard coyote gun. Its kept loaded around the house in case of two or four legged vermin. 3x9 tasco is plenty of scope for what I want this gun to do. As with all semi auto's reloading is a bit more complex and limited, but there are enough useable combinations that they can shoot accurate and not cost a ton of money.
