Howling Coyotes
I am new to Coyote hunting. I typically hear coyotes holwing near my house right at dusk. I need to call them into a field or in the woods relatively close to my house. What would be the best technique to call them when they are howling like that on their own.

Theres many ways to call them in when they are howling. Although you can stick with the standard rabbit distress calls howling back at them can be very effective. Before attempting to pursue them make sure you read up on and listen to all the different types of howls that a coyote will make and what they mean. there is endless amounts of reading and studies in the attempts to understand a coyotes vocalizations.

Make sure you pay attention to some of the fundamentals (wind in your face, good visibility ect ect.) theres nothing that will frustrate a person tring to learn this game more than educating the coyotes they will be tring to call the most.
Second just get out there and start tring!

Good point brad! levi and i had one in the classic that was coming in hell on wheels and i think the minute he hit that crick and sat down there was a territiory issue right there and after about 5 minutes of patient coaxing he threw all caution to the wind and jumped the boundary however he was very cautious the whole time and always looking to the south of his location.
