Dcoy the sling is always on the gun,I take the pod off when I get back to the truck,and just snap it on when I get out and load up, we do however tape the pods joints together when there is snow so as to not pull the legs apart (it happened 1 time )as far as tip overs, never happened to me I can set the gun on its own!!!

Thanks.Yes I agree your gun shouldn't tip at all.What I was referring to was a set of
'stix'that was similar but did not fasten to the rifle.It was just resting on it and often would tip.I like the looks of your rig a lot.
