Glad its not just me catching K-9 in cat traps :x . I'd like to catch a fox though. I've never killed one. I called one in once but my shooter missed.

I don't know whats happened to the freakin cats Dusty. All I'm getting right now is coyotes, racoons and skunks. All in spots that show some really good sign for bobcats. I set up a place yesterday that had more cat sign than I've ever seen so we'll see how that go's.

I finally figured out what a bobcat looks like!!!! I was helping a friend of mine with my limited trapping knowledge and he brought his boy Cooper along. This was the first bobcat that he had ever seen. Its an average size older female. I wanted to turn her loose but the leg I caught her by was busted and her foot was completely frozen. ( We had temps of -37 for a few nights)

Way to make it happen D. I hope I've got spots this weekend. Been a long drought. I've only caught two since me and Dad were zapping them on the river and I let one of them go. January sucked. :x

Heres some more pics. I found another of me and Cooper and his first B-cat. He's a really well mannered kid thats a hell of a hand a horseback. The other 2 are of a couple coyotes I caught yesterday. Our coyotes are really starting to rub bad around here. I'll put one up and sell the other to my buddy for $15. The third pic shows what happens when you get a little sloppy while snaring. I am not very proud of myself for this one. I din't choose a very good location to tie the snare off to and it left this coyote alive. I like my snares to kill quick. This is how you get chew outs. I use a really light cable and have only had 1 chew out since I figured out how to judge the length of tie off to use. That chew out was the same scenario as this. I JUST DIDN"T DO A GOOD JOB!!!!!

Those coyotes are looking pretty rough. I am assuming our coyotes will be looking rough after this week, with all the snow and now 40 degree temps all week. I am thinking this might be the last week of alright fur for the stretchers. How does the bobcat look? do they rub like a coyote?
