Dusty, just curious. what kind of trees(bushes) are those in your trapping photos.
the more food you have in your mouth at one time, the better you can taste it!!!

Ya i was just wondering non-targets are a reality unfortanetly and getting them released when the drag won't hold all that well can be a real pain!!! Looks like the dog is doing well

Re: DustyC trapping 09
Yeah I had an antelope once that broke through the brush on a drag and I wound up tracking her for about a mile!!!! I am really starting to like my little dog. Every day she gets a little better. Here is some more pics. The first one is a snared coyote that is the ugliest coyote I have ever seen. Looks like a Minnesota brown.
The next 2 are of my little dog and her mother. The pup shows a lot of heart and ability."God hates a coward"

Looks like the dog knows what it's about keep them on the line and working they will only get better with every coyote. Is that another trap and chain in the backround or a leash or what?

It's a leash. She got to where she didn't want to go back to the truck for a day or two.

Thats good to have the "hunt" instinct you can break the leaving and not coming back but you can't break the not wanting to leave the pickup or heading back before the stand is done ect ect. Sounds like you have a good dog on your hands now it's up to you to make it a Great dog

Coyotes coyotes and more coyotes keep her on them as much as humanly possible. Tracking cripples is a real good trait to have if you can get her using her nose so that she knows how to use it when needed. Hiding dead coyotes and then dropping her out and letting her find them is a start. Skinned hides with a little gland, urine and blood is another.
Get her on holes checking them. Coyotes like to hide in holes when wounded and a dog that can tell you they went in a hole is huge!
Get her denning send hot dogs down the holes for practice and show her that there will be a toy at the end if she locates a den for you. A dog that will find a den and let you know is worth more money then the pickup you drive!!

Re: DustyC trapping 09
Heres a couple pictures of the one of the coyotes I caght yesterday. I got a total of 4 coyotes and 1 fox. I caught this one right next to a aguys calving pasture. He was pretty happy when I showed him the lack of teeth and how old this dog was.
What the hell, It won't let me attach a pic. It says that "the board attachment quota has been reached'.
