Shafted by a 4-wheeler !

Post by Bamadog »

I was set up on an old overgrown fenceline in the top corner of a pasture this morning. Knew some dogs had been using the woodline to move from one pasture to the other so i got downwind and settled in just after daylight. Lip squeeked a few times and within minutes i saw movement through the trees in the upper field. He was a scrawny thing but he looked interested. Im still working on getting my squeeks down so i decided to just watch him for a few moments. He crossed through into my field and froze.
I got him in the scope just as a 4-wheeler topped the far hill. Deer hunter decked out in blaze orange. Needless to say the yote was gone by the time i looked back. Being new to this, i was still happy i got a response so quick. The landowner said the hunter was his neighbor using the field as a shortcut to his other propery.

Oh well, gave me something to think about at work today.

Yep, had that happen many time's except up here in the frozen North it's the high pitched whine of those dammed snowmobile's! Coyotes get chased by some not-heads, and can hear the sound for miles on A calm day, :x :x :x and then there gone! I feel your pain!
