First stand in the morning has been the best for me over the years. Start calling as soon as you can see well enough to see them COMING and get a bullet put in them. Usually 30 minutes before the posted sunrise.

I'd have to say I've called more in during the middle of the day. I can't explain why other than I have a hard time getting out of bed early

I got no problem getting out of bed, but from 10:00 to 2:00 is most productive for me this year :?

I'm there on stand by first light and there sometimes until after dark, but mid-day has been good this year...............

When I go to hunt it's from sun up until sundown. Very rarely do I only go out for part of a day...unless I have other commitments like family things. Usually I don't get to hunt many days out of a year so when I go it is the whole day.

With that said I have had my best luck in the middle of the day. Not quite sure as to the reason, but I usually have some good stands around noon or so.

I wonder if I am hitting the bedding areas more often in the middle of the day than I am hitting their hunting areas early in the day or closer to night?

Early morning stands are usually the best around here. Locate before daylight and move in.

It can vary some with the time of year. I think the mornings are best for most guys because that is when most coyotes are up, moving around looking for food. the dead of winter coyotes can be about any where for the most part. I do believe that breeding pairs are together year round and really are pretty consistant with the area they are bedding in day after day. Non breeding coyotes and young of the year can be here today and gone tomorrow. You can have travel corridors that in the 1st and 2nd dispersal can and will hold coyotes through out the day.
