From what I have heard, female coyotes will come to pup in distress calls out of instinct, but as to exactly when to use it (time of year), Im not 100% sure.

I've had just enough success with it that I use it from the middle of Sept til I quit calling in April.

If you ever hear a coyote pup in distress it does not sound like the sound that everyone accociates with a pup in distress. when I say pup I do not mean fall pups, I am talking may/june pups.

Good point jamie!!! A fall pup is going to sound more like a coyote in distress not a pup in distress. A spring pup will sound like a pup in distress.

Most of you guys proably don't have a WT. so you don't know but Bill has two pup distress sounds and one adult distress. The pup distress is 8 month and 10 month of age and both sound different..
