40 gr Nosler BT going fast at very close range. It's been surprisingly good unless close and hit bone.Weeks ago it converted a $40 to a $6 and I retired it awhile.Took it out west last week cause it adds about 100 more 'lethal' yds than my 17 and was too lazy to take it out of the truck yesterday. Not in there this AM.

Yes I am.
As you may recall I love the BTs but acknowledge the fur issues they can create.Their jacket is thicker than say the Vmax but...still explosive on certain hits. The 'varmint' ones aren't as thick as their 'hunting' ones but...
I use the 115 BTs all the time for deer in my 257 Weatherby and they paralyze anything they hit.Bang,flop,period.
I use them once in awhile in my 22-250(40s n 50s);my 220 improved(50s)in my 243(55s n 70s)and 120s in my 260.They often perform great on coyotes but usually not on close shots. The reverse of what happened on the pic above happened today.
243 with a 70 gr BT but at 400 yds.Bang, flop, and you wouldn't know there was an exit hole except for a small blood spot. Please don't ridicule the rifle.I affectionately call it 'Long Tom' but some years ago Randy Roede,on this site, commented to the effect I must have to travel with my truck window open. :D

Another example from yesterday.Happened fast and acted quickly but clearly a 35 Berger out of a 204 is not friendly when you hit the neck at 6 paces.
