mn yote regulations

All you new guys who are just getting into coyote hunting, put your posts in this area. Lots of good information that would be helpful before putting up a post asking for the "how to" manual on calling.

Does anyone know the laws for nite hunting coyotes in Minnesota? Can I use a rifle at night.? Can I use lights?

I think yes to both questions but may have a limitation on the size of light. I used to live there but I can not remember for sure what they decided about the light. I know the law has changed in recent years.

The rules are on page 44 of the regulation handbook. You can use shotguns and lights.

A hand held light can be used from Jan.1 to March 15 and only with the use of a shotgun.. If you want to use a rifle you will have to rely on a full moon to do so. Must be 200 feet from truck... Fox and coyote are the only animals that can be taken with use of light and must have handcalls or E-caller in possession...
