Night hunting tournament

Post by lyonch »

I was curious if any one has ever thought of or heard of a tournament that was held at night under a full moon?? I know there are many factors that come into play but it would have to be a presigned up tournament and have to be weather related and fully refundable if the weather dont cooperate. I know i love hunting at night under a full moon and let me tell you it could add some really exciting calling late in the year when howls come into play a lot more

what if its cloudy? what if you had to travel a long ways like we normally do to find out it cloudy out. What if it starts out nice and then clouds up or fog rolls in? Lots of factor to consider for night hunt. Just some thoughts.

Thats why it is pre-register and if there is any chance that it will be cloudy all teams can be called in advance and can be canceled. That way no traveling done by anybody.

The only reason levi is being a baby about all this is becuase he is scared of the dark  I guess the boogie monster comes out then, and prefers to be cuddled up with his wife in bed

If this were to happen i would do it with a few buddies first that would just throw some money in the pot and we will see how it goes, before this would actually become a full blown tournament advertised to the public.

I think it would be cool. I have hunted at night before without any luck.

we have a small tournament with buddies around home usually during the weekend of the february moon, and it is a blast. we all meet up before sundown pay up and then everyone is free to go and then we meet up in the morning usually at the local cafe, have breakfast and compare stories. It is a blast especially since everyone is out hunting those nights anyways, this just sweatens the deal if you can get a few.

I can see doing something like that, were you wouldn't have to travel, lets say minot for instance.

One nice thing I like abou Full moon hunting, there is usually nobody out doing it. I know chris and I were out last year and never saw another vehicle out. Kind of nice to keep the full moon trick to yourself

yeah, unfortunately the secret is out down here, we have guys asking for perission at a lot of our spots that we have had for years, the sport is growing fast and around here it is pretty tough to call during the days with all the human pressure, so night is everyones best bet and they are all starting to figure it out. We just need to move to ND!
