I got a call this morning. My friend was excited. His wife was driving to Rapid City today and what should happen to run accross the road in front of her. Two mountain lions. She said one was quite large and the other one was littler. I presume it was a male and female traveling together. It was just on the West side out of Phillip S.D. Probably haven't heard the last of this.
I was hunting out by Hermosa last weekend and drove that same road and all I saw was one coyote crossing a head of me,on the way out there. At the ranch we saw lot of coyotes but were only lucky enough to get one. Me and a friend had a guy from South Africa we took hunting. We let him shoot the one coyote. This guy is over here booking hunts on his place in Africa. Quite an interesting fella. Lots of exciting stories. His deck to his house is built right over a river. He has a big spotlight mounted there and sees all kinds of wildlife. Burtis is his name and he just booked a hunt for $100,000.00 with a basketball player in the NBA. He doesn't have to book too many hunts to make it worthwhile for him to come over here. The guys place we hunted on had a trophy room that was unbelievable. He had all kinds of mounts. Most were just head mounts but they were beautiful. I got a glimpse of how the other side lives. Keep your eyes open, you never know when you might see one.

Re: Two Lion Sightings
Interesting Jerry.A few years back my wife and I had archery elk tags in the Hills. We were camping south of Custer and one morning were going to try a spot north of Custer. We just entered Custer(still dark)and had a big lion cross in front of us right in town.Later in daylight when we returned I looked the area over.Sort of a new subdivision on one side and 2-3 houses with big lots and a few horses on the other.Guy would have to watch out for your dogs there.
