I have heard this discussed in great detail a few other times by some pretty notable callers and i think that in a certain situation it would probably warrant a try. There was a big push that it was the next best thing and a guy could go out and win every contest with it and that is just BS in my opinion. I have heard some different vairation of callers tring to mimick it but never heard a GOOD recording of what this sound is supposed to sound like.

I seen the video, I just think he misunderstood what he was seeing. I do think the sound will call in coyotes but I do not think it would do any better than some of the more proven sounds that are used in January and early February. I have some strong opinions about sounds and the best times of the year to use them. I really consider the hormone levels of coyotes when I think about what sounds I am going to use on stand. specifically when it comes to vocalizations. I really feel that it is best to stick with the distress sounds during the early part of the season. once the coyotes have paired up then you can safely go into vocalizations but most guys just do not know as much as they think they do about the sounds and what the coyote is telling them when they respond. To many dumb pups being shot that don't know any better and to many dumb hunters thinking they just shot a 5 year old dog coyote when they really shot last years pup. when you have a healthy population than you can get away with more screw ups but when the season is late and the dogs are tougher to come by you need to get more things right. You will hear more and more as the season goes by about all these call shy and call resistant coyotes. the main problem is the hunter and not the coyote. to many guys putting a 100 dumb pup coyotes under his belt, hunting every county in the state and thinking he is some kind of calling god that has this game figured out. You will learn way more about coyotes and be more selective on your stands, your sounds and your shots if you just try to kill all the coyotes out of one township.

AMEN!

I call and kill my fair share of coyotes annually. But I STILL am not confident enough in my knowledge of "coyote talk" to delve into it to much deeper than the basics. Its all about making the right sound, at the right time, to the right animal. Alot of guys dont know a pup from an adult from a hole in their head, and heaven forbid they be able to tell a male from a female before they kill it.

Ill even up your anty as saying "to many idiots with a foxpro".
