Do you have a clear line of sight?
I dont think the signal is very strong, a clear line of sight is a MUST in my experience. I had to have my buddy move his head a few times on one stand this weekend to get a signal to it.

In the manual it says to get the best range that you should: elevate the caller, raise the antenna, avoid setting the caller on or near metal objects, avoid use near antennas (could cause interference), and make sure you have a clear line of sight from the remote to the caller. I have an FX3 also, and the farthest range I've gotten out of it was about 200 yds, but it was -10 outside also.

i had some issues with my fury and costomer said its important that the antenae is up on the unit and the antanae of the remote is to be pointed up also. don't point it at the unit.
