It was 11p.m. on a monday night .
and me being an EARLY riser who gets up at 3 a.m. for work every day ,
was already asleep for a couple of hours .
My wife comes in and wakes me up and says HEY THERE S A COYOTE IN THE YARD.
Half asleep i jump up look for my gun . in 1 part of the house . and ammo in the other ,
finaly get it together.
By that time it had gone from 10 feet from the window to 40 yds away but in tall grass .
realy hard to see the outline . i shoot . and miss, It takes off and stops farther down the scrub field .
Now its 80 to 100 yds away from the window. still not a problem shot . but again tall patches of grass / scrub .
finaly i get a broad side outline but its walking .
Not what id realy like but it will be only shot im gonna get . there s pine trees 20 yds beyond that .
I put the crosshairs on the heart squeezed the trigger . and it ran off , i must have missed again ,
The next day it was bugging me all morning . how did i miss that . Im a good shot.
So i came home early and went to the spot where it was standing when i shot at it .
And i found blood .
It only went 20 yds through the pines and fell over .
it was a gut shot , not what i like or where i was aiming . but i retrieved my game ,
So ill tale it
it was a 35 lb male . just average for this area
