Limited scope adjustment?

I recently bought a Bushnell Elite 4200 tacticle scope for my long range coyote rig. I got the scope zero'd at 200yds just fine. I then turned the turret and found out that I only have 3.5" of elevation adjustment left, which doest leave me with nearly enough adjustments for shots out to 600yds. I was wondering if anyone else has had this kind of problem? I am planning on getting a 30MOA canted base so hopefully that helps give me some more elevation adjustment to work with.

I had the same problem with my leupold except i couldnt even get it zeroed at 100 so i snooped around and thought about getting some expensive bases but i found some burris rings that have bushings in the rings to center the scope and there are different sizes of bushings to mix and match to get your elevation or your windage. had them on for a year now and they are rock solid and believe me im pretty hard on my shit. you will easily be able to dial well past 600 with them but they were kind of hard to get set up if you had a lazer bore sighter they would be a breeze to get set up.

Devildogg is right on it.

They care calle Burris Zee rings and they have a posi-align system with plastic bushings you can put in them with 5 to 10 thousands of offset to them. They are also made of steel and not aluminum and are tougher than Bruce Lee. They are also pretty much the ring of choice for the serious benchrest crowd(aka..very rich old retired cats who can afford any damn rings they want). Reset your crosshairs in the scope to "factory centered" state and then install the Zee rings. You have to order the offset shims separate but they're cheap. I think they go .05thou, .10 and .15thou offset but not sure but they'll fix your issue. Not too awful spendy either and the plastic inserts wont mar your scopes finish.

Well got a weaver 20 MOA base on there now so I should have enough adjustment to work with. Just got to work up a good load for it, probably give the sierra 85gr BTHP a try.

Bucks, have you shot any dogs with the 85s? I'm looking for a load that will put them down good out to 600yds with as little pelt damage as possibe.

no not personnly but i've talked to guys and have read lot of reports and seems like a great bullet. i just recently got a .243 and am still experamenting with it. so far i've shot only sierra in 70 h.p-80 btsp and 85 sp. my gun did not like the 70' 80's but liked the 85's but now its shooting the 80;s very well. i hav'nt shot many coyotes with it yet but the ones i have shot, i've been pleased with the 85's

You could also purchase a sheet of .005 or .010 of brass shim material to add, if that helps.
