Jesse and i got to go out on sat. for a day of calling and it was a great day! Our first set put us out 1 mile in the middle of a 2 mile sec. no takers but right at the end i caught a glimpse of one about a half mile out. I told jesse what do you think he said lets do it. We got over there and there he was about 350 yds out we lay down and start callin and there he was about 120 yds out bang flop jesse dumped him. Jesse looked at me and said i dont think that was the same coyote so i kept calling and over the hill came the other one he tried to circle and get our wind but bang flop it was to late jesse had a double. we drag them back to the truck and decided to go after a pair that was howling at us while we were at the first stand. We wallk back 1 mile make a set and nothing i tell jesse im goin in after them pick me on the highway 2 miles over. I go in another 3/4 mi. and spot them on a slough but they are heading the other way im going as fast as a fat kid can go on snowshoes. i get behind a hill and start takin my shoes off the whole time i have a call in my mouth doing the best distress i can to get them stopped when i crawl up to the top of the hill they are sitting on there haunches about 700 yds out i try everything and nothing works so at last resort i throw out a challenge boom that does it hes trottin my way but hangs up 350yds out i dial in my scope hold for the wind bang flop. We go to the next spot and i tell jesse this is our best spot for the day we walk out about 3/4 mi i tell jesse the last time i was here some came in behind me and I never knew they were there until i saw there trax on the way out so he set up behind me over the hill i start callin and about 5 min in i hear bang flop i think all right i look to the east and another one is coming on my side he gets to 220 yds bang flop. i look out and see 2 more scootin to the northwest i call jesse and said come over here lets see if we can sneak up on those 2. We start over there and get about 300yds and i look up and see one standing out in the field about 400yds out we take off our shoes and crawl toa little knob and start calling we lose sight of him when we laid down. it seemed like forever before i looked to my left and there he is 120 yds out bang flop. I look at jesse and say lets see if we can get one more jesse says lets do it. we sneak up to a rock pile and there are the original 2 we were going to sneak up on but there are 4 more with them 6 total. we tried everything and they wouldnt budge they were about 650 to 700 yds out and no way to get any closer. I look at jesse and tell him i think they are on to us and we kind of laugh. So we were just getting ready to stand up and i look to the north west and there is another one i swing my rifle jesse starts calling he lifts his head looks our way and here he comes 100yds bang flop. We had four coyotes within 500yds it was awsome to say the least. i tried my hardest to get jesse to drag them all out since i was really tired and my snowshoes were falling apart but that didnt work next time we do that im going to fake a cardiac arrest so he drags me and the coyotes out. So all in all we made 4 sets shot 7 coyotes 1 spotnstalk fox and 1 coon and were done before 3:00 oclock that was an awsome day. :D

Neat story, you two have to have horse shoes as gun rests with all the doubles, triples and quads you have had this year, cause nobody can drag that many coyotes out with one in thier up thier aars   PIC"S hmmmm

Damon, they dont make a coyote drag strong enough to drag your arse out.
We did have a great day. I would post some pics if I knew how.

Hey guys you sound like you know what you’re doing and the pictures show it! I just started hunting yotes and my buddy and I went out this morning and got set up at 4 this morning. The first spot we started calling with a cottontail call we have 2 different models and alternated 1 min on then 30-60 sec off. We had 2 or 3 different packs howling back so used (what I think is a female call) and they responded. It was too dark to see anything along the tree lines and nothing stepped out into the snow. I hunt in central MN we went out to cold spring area today on a farm it had open fields and thin tree lines that ran basically down into a swamp. They were howling back from down in the swamp, we kept on the rabbit calls after they didn’t respond to the last howl. What do you guys suggest doing? Different times to go out or a decoy or do you think it was our calling? Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated!!
