Hi all,
I do most of my calling in the far eastern part of ND, but once a year I go west to the Little Missouri National Grasslands to call. It's been my experience that the coyotes out west are much more vocal than the coyotes in eastern ND. I RARELY hear a coyote in the east unless I've been busted, yet out west I hear them all the time. I know that some on this board have called on both sides of ND and I'm curious if others have noticed this.
Thanks,
Nitwit

I have noticed its been equal on both east and west side. I hunt The Whole state really hard and its been equal throughout.

Population densities. The more coyotes you have the more vocal. Less coyotes, less vocal. They use the vocalizations to help re-enforce boundaries. Letting evereyone know know where they are at. The smaller their territories the more vocal they are. Higher densities of coyotes means smaller territories. (typically)
