I skinned a bobcat about a week ago and just took it off the stretcher and noticed that it had a really bad smell. the smell is worse than the coyotes i have just wondering if this is bad and what to do about it . thanks

it shouldn't smell. did it smell when you put it on there? is it dry and crispy now............you sure you don't have some rot somewere on it?

It didnt stink when i put it on there. its dry now it isnt slipping anywhere but it just smells like something is wrong with it. i fleshed it good so i dont know what it would be.

have you put up a lot of fur..........the muzzle and ears can be a problem at times. did you pull the ear cartlidge out or use any borax?

I have put up a lot of coyote but first bobcat. i removed the ear cartridge and did it just like a coyote and ive never had any problems with them.

Have you used borax before?
