Seen this fella out over a couple beaver ponds. Put the sneak on him, wind was wrong, but figured what the heck. He was right where I was going to put my bait barrel. Snuck up behind a beaver dam and must have had the sights on him for 15 minutes, always something in the way of the shot. Finally he started to walk off, 2 steps and I didn't have a shot, so I barked at him, he stopped looked at me then turned around and went back the other way. When he stopped I took him with my old 30-30. He did a roll, spun and jumped off the dam he was on. Piled up within 10 yds of where I shot him. He isn't much more than a 5' bear, but nice color.

You have to love those spring bears. The hair on their hides are so thick that they make great mounts!!!!!

He is gonna make a real nice little rug. You're right about the hair, some of the young ones can seem to den up badly and freeze some hair down, but this guy was great.

Prairie ghost, I didn't call him, when I spotted him I was able to sneak up on him, but I did bark at him and get him to come back for a shot.
Coyotehunter, he was only a couple miles from alberta, that area has a lot of colored bear. About 40 miles north of Lloydminster.

Thanks Tbush. Isn't everybody still looking for a blonde? Might have one coming in to a bait now actually. If we get a pic of it I'll post it.
